PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

This is a full time entry level position and opportunity to join Speedwell Coffee's production and roasting team. Speedwell Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster located in Plymouth, MA, and we are looking for an individual with a passion and interest in coffee, and an enthusiasm for learning. Prior experience in roasting is not required, however we prefer a candidate with work experience in the specialty coffee industry.
Candidate would join our production team, and participate in all aspects of our coffee production and order fulfillment. This role would progress toward coffee roasting.
Initial responsibilities would include:
- Packaging coffee
- Labeling bags
- Order fulfillment
- Communication with customers
- Weekly coffee cuppings
- Coffee education and training
- Intro to roasting
The responsibilities would then progress to include:
- Sample roasting
- Roast profile development
- Production roasting
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 150 pounds assisted
- Comfortably stand and walk for up to 9 hours in a day
- Have a valid Driver’s license and comfortable driving
- Have own reliable transportation
- Must wear attire that abides by Serv Safe requirements: close toed shoes, navel and armpits covered, long hair or beards tied back or restrained with a net.
