Pain D'Avignon (Hyannis, MA)

As is true with most start-ups, when Pain D'Avignon first opened, we began with our Artisan breads, pastries, croissants and just coffee. Speedwell, was our first vendor. Since coffee is almost sacred to us and indicative of a great European cafe, it meant everything to us that Derek got it, and that coffee meant everything to him too. Ten years later, PDA Cafe has grown and so has Speedwell, and yet, they have continued to provide high quality, product and service, with their local roaster persona. Clover Food Lab (Boston, MA)

We first met Derek in the South End back in 2011 when we were both new businesses. We were running a food truck, and Derek was making coffee from an espresso cart. Derek had us down to Plymouth and showed us his roasting facility. Speedwell joined us as part of our single origin coffee program. As Clover has grown, our relationship with Speedwell has flourished. My staff and I always look forward to the Speedwell shipment (especially when it's that Limu coffee from Ethiopia.) When customers find out Derek sent us a new coffee, they flock to our restaurants. But Speedwell doesn't just have great coffee, they have great people, too. Derek and Sarah are always up for a trip to Clover to meet our staff, to host us for a field trip, or to weigh in on the calibration of a grinder or brewer. We love Speedwell!
