Cold Brew Coffee & Food Safety

Be sure you're serving up cold brew coffee...safely!

Since the popularity of cold brew coffee (and nitro cold brew) has just recently skyrocketed, there are very few (if any) specific regulations around brewing and storing this product. But more and more is being learned all the time about the chemistry of cold brew, and safety guidelines are beginning to emerge from this new knowledge.

We want to be sure that we are helping you stay ahead of the trend of cold brew, and most importantly, we want to help you ensure the safety of your customers! With that in mind, we have updated our Commercial Cold Brew Instructions document to emphasize the importance of the following:
  • Refrigeration during the steeping process is critical for the prevention of unsafe bacteria growth.
  • Proper cleaning and sanitation of all brewing and bottling equipment is essential.
If you serve cold brew - or are considering it - please give the instructions a look. And let us know if you have any questions!
